CINP 2010 Awards

The CINP 2010 Awards are not to be missed! The following awards will be presented during the Opening Ceremony at the HKCEC, Convention Hall BC on Sunday, 6 June 2010 at 18.00 h. A reception will follow.

Recognition of the Rafaelsen Young Investigator awards will take place in a by-invitation-only ceremony Sunday afternoon, 6 June.

The Poster Awards will be presented during the Closing Ceremony.


Max Hamilton Memorial Prize
Max Hamilton, M.D. (1912 – 1988) is best known for his assessment of depressive illness through psychometrics. The Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression is widely used throughout the world, and his 1960 paper on the problem of measuring the severity of depression is probably the most cited medical publication in the second half of the twentieth century. The Max Hamilton Memorial Prize is given to a young scientist in recognition of an outstanding contribution to psychopharmacology. This Prize was initiated in 1990, is supported by an educational grant from AstraZeneca and consists of a monetary award and engraved plaque. An international scientific jury has selected Jean-Martin Beaulieu, Canada as the 2010 awardee.


CINP Pioneers in Psychopharmacology Awards
CINP Pioneers in Psychopharmacology Awards are given at each Congress to honour three individuals who have made major contributions to the field as it has developed. The contribution may be in research, clinical, or administrative areas but must be internationally recognized as significant to the growth of the field. Selection is made by the Executive Committee of the CINP. The awardees receive an invitation to the congress and an engraved plaque.
The CINP 2010 Pioneers in Psychopharmacology Award will go to:

Salomon Langer, Israel and France
Teruo Okuma, Japan


Rafaelsen Young Investigator Travel Award
The Rafaelsen Travel Awards, established in 1986, enable young researchers to attend the CINP 2010 Congress in Hong Kong and mark a step in a future rising career. A total of 10 Awardees have been selected by an international scientific jury and each Young Investigator will be presented with an Award consisting of air travel, lodging, and a cash stipend, certificate, and waived registration fees at the XXVII CINP Congress in Hong Kong. The Awardees will be recognized during a special ceremony which will take place on Sunday, 6 June 2010.

CINP Ethics Prize in Psychopharmacology
The CINP Ethics Prize in Psychopharmacology recognizes achievements in research in ethics in psychopharmacology, in promotion of public awareness of ethics in psychopharmacology and contributions to the world wide solution of problems in ethical practice of psychopharmacology. An international scientific jury has selected Dan Stein, South Africa as the 2010 awardee.


CINP Lilly Neuroscience Basic Research Award

The CINP Lilly Neuroscience Basic Research Award was established in 1998 and is given to an outstanding investigator (less than 55 years old on January 1st of the year the prize is
awarded) who has made significant contributions to Psychopharmacology. The work which
forms the basis for this Award should be internationally recognized. This Award is supported by an educational grant from Lilly USA, LLC consists of a monetary award and an engrave plaque. An international scientific jury has selected Pierre Blier, Canada as the 2010 Awardee.


CINP Lilly Neuroscience Clinical Research Award

The CINP Lilly Neuroscience Clinical Research Award, established in 1998, is given to acknowledge an exceptional investigator / clinician (less than 55 years old on January 1st of the year the prize is awarded) who has made significant theoretical or experimental contributions to Pychopharmacology. The contributions which form the basis for this Award
should be internationally recognized. The Award is supported by an educational grant
from Lilly USA, LLC
and consists of a monetary award and an engraved plaque. An international scientific jury has selected Paul J. Harrison, UK as the 2010 Awardee.

 
CINP 2010 Poster Awards
Outstanding posters of scientists actively involved in clinical and preclinical research will be
awarded with the CINP 2010 Poster Award. A jury will select the posters to be awarded during the CINP 2010 Poster Sessions, on the basis of the study’s scientific excellence. Awardees of the best poster in clinical, translational and basic neuroscience research will receive a certificate during the Closing Ceremony.
