Travel to Hong Kong
Hong Kong’s 24-hour International Airport is the aviation hub of Asia served by more than 80 airlines providing connections to major cities throughout the world. Getting to and from Hong
Kong International Airport is easy, convenient and relatively inexpensive. The airport offers arriving passengers direct access to train, bus and taxi.


Time Zone

Hong Kong is located in the GMT +8 time zone.


Climate
Hong Kong has a subtropical climate with distinct seasons. During summer, weather in Hong Kong is hot, humid and sunny, with occasional showers and thunderstorms. The temperature can exceed 31°C.

Overlooking famed Victoria Harbour, the Centre is conveniently linked by covered walkways to adjacent hotels. Also close are the MTR-Hong Kong’s modern subway system – the airport bus, city buses and ferries, banking, the main post office, and all the shopping and entertainment that Hong Kong is famous for.


Public Transportation

Hong Kong has an excellent public transport system. Visitors have the choice of MTR (Mass Transit Railway), trains, buses, trams, ferries and taxis. Public transportation covers extensive areas of Hong Kong, and has signs in English and Chinese. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) can easily be reached with public transportation.


Currency

The local currency is Hong Kong Dollar (HKD). Payments will be accepted in EURO (EUR).
Foreign currency can be exchanged for Hong Kong dollars at authorised money exchangers. Automated teller machines (ATMs) can be found almost everywhere.

Language

Cantonese is the Chinese dialect spoken by over 88% of the people in Hong Kong. Chinese and English are the official languages of Hong Kong. All official signs are bilingual (using traditional characters).
